Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department to Fill-the-Boot for MDA

MONTGOMERY, N.Y., August 17, 2010 – The Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department will be filling-the-boot for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) on Saturday, September 4, 2010.

On Saturday, September 4, Montgomery firefighters will be collecting donations for the fight against neuromuscular disease from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Shop Rite parking lot on 208 Hawkins Drive in Montgomery, N.Y. This is the third year that Montgomery firefighters will be filling-the-boot for MDA and this year they have set a goal to raise $500.

MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education. MDA combats neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive medical and support services, and far-reaching professional and public health education.
