Artist Charles Fazzino and The Food Emporium Donate Proceeds from Special Edition Bag to MDA

New Haven, Conn., June 2, 2010 – The Food Emporium will be donating a portion of the proceeds from a special edition reusable shopping bag, featuring the work of renowned 3-D pop artist Charles Fazzino to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The reusable, eco-friendly bag will display his painting “Fazzino’s Fabulous NY Apple” and is the first in a series of limited edition collectible bags featuring artwork from some of the world’s most talented artists and designers.

Artist Charles Fazzino is dedicated to many social causes, with a special interest in those involving children. In the last ten years alone he has raised over one million dollars with his artwork for these causes. He is a National Vice President for MDA, has acted as the official artist for the N.Y. Chapters Muscle Team Gala seven times and has visited MDA Summer Camp.

The bag retails for $7.99 and can be purchased at The Food Emporium Store at 810 Eighth Avenue (49th Street), New York, N.Y. They can also be ordered over the phone at (212) 381-0885. Fazzino will be available to sign bags at The Food Emporium Store on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research.
