A&P Supermarkets Presents Check to Muscular Dystrophy Association


Pompton Plains, N.J., June 1, 2010 – On Thursday, May 20, 2010, CEO and President of A&P Family Supermarkets Ron Marshall presented the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) with a check for over $332,000 representing the proceeds from their recent “Shamrocks Against Dystrophy” Fund.

The check was presented as part of a grand reopening of the Pompton Plains A&P located at 500 Route 23 North. It has been closed since March due to flooding. In addition to raising money for MDA, funds were also raised for the Community Food Bank of N.J. and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

MDA is a national voluntary health agency working to defeat muscular dystrophy and related diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services and far-reaching professional and public health education. MDA also supports nearly 400 research projects around the world and sponsors 220 hospital-affiliated clinics.
